What are Scrips? Scrips are gift cards that are purchased by the members of the church. The reason for the effectiveness of scrip is simple: families generate revenue through purchases they would make anyway. Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with scrip.
How it works? You purchase scrip cards at a certain dollar amount, and then Great Lake Scrips Center, sells them to our church as a discounted rate. Therefor our profit is the discount percentage. For example, if you can purchase Applebee's scrip card for $25.00, which has an 8% discount, and the church gets to keep$2.00 in our account. Of course, $2.00 sounds like a small amount, but it adds up
What to do? Talk to Sydney or Sondra at the back fo the church and we will take your order or gladly sell you one of the ones in stock. We try to keep the following on hand - Lowes, Home Depot, Winn Dixie, Shell, Exxon, Chevron, Blockbuster, Office Depot, Applebee's, Burger King, Chili's, Chuck E. Cheese, Pizza Hut, Quizno's, Starbucks, Texas Roadhouse, Wendy's Barnes & Nobles, Bass Pro, Bath and Body Works, Bed Bath & Beyond, Cabela's, Kmart, Old Navy, Payless Showes, Sears, Shoe Carnival, etc. But, you can order any of the cards from a list online at www.glscrip.com and they will hopefully be at the church the following Sunday.
